Frequently asked questions

A death notice serves to announce the passing of a loved one and to provide details about the funeral service, including the date, time and location.

A death notice will also include the name and date of death, along with a photograph and a brief obituary to honour their memory.

If your funeral director does not suggest a notice on RIP.scot, you can ask them to contact us to register, noting the service will be entirely free for them.

If you have any questions or want to ensure your loved one is remembered on RIP.scot, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@rip.scot

The funeral director who created the death notice can access and update it whenever necessary.

If you’re handling the funeral arrangements and would like to make any changes to a death notice or have it removed from RIP.scot, just reach out to the funeral director. They will be happy to help.

RIP.scot will host your loved one’s notice as outlined in our terms of service. This ensures that their notice will be easily accessible for viewing, remembering, and sharing with family and friends.
